Mr.D.Anthony Samy  Presented his Ph.D thesis on "Assessment and Prediction of Flood Vulnerability in a part of Kosi River Basin, Bihar State, India: A Study Based on Geoinformatics and HECRAS Model" under the guidance of Prof.Dr.N.D.Mani, Director, Centre For Geoinformatics, on 13.7.2015 at Centre for Geoinformatics.





Delivered Lecture

·         Lecturer delivered on “Importance of Soft Skills in Entering into Job Market" by Dr.V.Reddappa Reddy, Professor, Department of Rural Development, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh on 13.07.2015 at Geoinformatics Block, GRI for the benefit of students of the Centre for Geoinformatics.

National Conference



A National Conference on RECENT ADVANCES IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND APPLICATIONS was organized by Department of Computer Science and Applications. A Technical session on GIS & Remote Sensing was conducted at Centre for Geoinformatics on 19.03.2015, chaired by Dr.N.D.Mani, Director, Centre for Geoinformatics and co-chaired by Dr.M.Muthukumar, Assistant professor, Centre for Geoinformatics. 17 papers were received, of them 14 papers were presented on various themes using Remote Sensing and GIS. A few papers were focused on customization using C# and open source software like MapwinGIS.

GEOPARLEY -2015


Students of Geoinformatics and Spatial Technologies programmes and Research Scholars of the Centre for Geoinformatics, GRI, Gandhigram have conducted GEOPARLEY 2015, one day State Level Inter-collegiate Students’ Fest on Geoinformatics for Nation building at Geoinformatics block, GRI on 20.02.2015. 115 students from 13 institutions from various parts of the state participated in the fest.

Dr.N.D.Mani, Professor has assumed charge as Director of the Centre for Geoinformatics in Gandhigram Rural Institute.
