State level intercollegiate Students Seminar on Climate Change


About the University
The Gandhigram Rural Institute (GRI) was founded in 1956 by two disciples of Gandhiji, Dr.G.Ramachandran and Dr.T.S.Soundaram. The University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, Conferred on it the status of a Deemed University in 1976. The Institute offers Doctoral, Master’s and Bachelor’s degree, Diploma and Certificate programmes. The academic programmes have attracted students from different parts of India and from other developing countries.
About the Department
GRI offers a two-year, M.Sc., programme in Geoinformatics as well as a one-year, PG Diploma programme in Spatial Technologies, with the aim of developing human resources in Geoinformatics for the emerging, high-tech enterprise scenario in India. This multi-disciplinary programme offers an opportunity to use a computer constantly, enabling them to master the latest packages available in the fields of GIS, Digital Image Processing, GPS and Computer Science. Both these programmes are employment oriented. All the passed out student are placed in different companies and Government Organisations.



About the Seminar

·         4 participants per college
·         Final year under graduate students only
·         Abstract should reach the Convener on or before 7th February 2014.
·         The abstract should be sent to ndmani@gmail.com
·         The full paper should be submitted on 10th February 2014.
·         Duration: 5 min for presentation  &
2 min for interaction.
·         Time: 10 am to 4 pm.
·         Venue: Geoinformatics Block

(Submit both hard and soft copy of abstract and full paper)


General Instructions

·   No Registration fee.
·   Participants should register themselves before 9.30 am on 10th February 2014.
·   Refreshment and Lunch will be provided.
·   The Judge’s decision is final.
·   Participants must bring their ID card.
